I think it just had a lot of small issues that eventually piled up. I sometimes have a hard time putting my finger on what it was exactly that was wrong about it. I even played the DLC, which was probably a good thing because it reminded me that there were actually things I liked about the game.
#WIKIPEDIA LIST OF CASTLEVANIA GAMES PORTABLE#
I hadn't heard about a new portable game though so I'm pretty stoked for that.Īs for Lords of Shadow? I wanted to like it, I really did. I heard that they were making a sequel just a couple of months after the release of Lords of Shadow so them announcing that would come as no big suprise. That said, the Rayman Origins 3DS demo showed that that's not necessarily the case all the time. Very few games will actually use 3D as something that makes the game cooler or better of changes gameplay in some form (think Mario 3D Land) but especially with 2D games, there's a big chance they actually look fancier because of the different layers (-> possibly Paper Mario 3D). In a recent investor meeting they said something along the lines of focusing on 3D less (since they probably realized that 3D is actually more of a forgettable fad/gimmick than motion controls will ever be). I believe at least one of the early games (some arcade port) did not have a 3D mode. (For all I know it might even be required in order for Nintendo to approve the game being released.)Īctually 3D is not required.

When I think about it, I can see 3DS still being a better choice than Vita simply due to 3DS have a 2nd screen to display a map with.)īut of course it will make some use of 3D, actually I assumed *all* 3DS games make use of 3D no matter what. It's probably one of those games that's being made for 3DS simply because it's the Nintendo handheld of the week, not for any particular merit the 3DS has over other systems. What I meant was, the game isn't something that would strike me as specifically making good use of 3D. There's no reason they can't make certain layers pop out or recede. Why not? Other 2D games have used (stereoscopic) 3D. Awesome, I really enjoyed the DS Castlevanias, especially said:
